I agree with you about using few spices and seasonings and depending less on recipes.

Try stir frying a mix of your farm share veggies using high heat, little oil with some garlic and ginger. Then add a dash of tamari and little medium drinking sherry. Fry it, you'll like it!

Glaser is a great place. They have lots of stuff you honestly can't find anywhere else. I used to shop there every week and still go about once every 2 months. But, I find the produce at Josh's much fresher and cheaper, plus you get a receipt so you know what you paid for each thing so you can evaluate just what things are costing you (that $15 a pound herb may have only been $2; the $4 per produce may have been $9). Josh's is at the Beach Boardwalk and Hollywood Blvd. (south part of the Ramada Hotel complex) Sundays 9-5:30. Josh doesn't have the raw prepared foods or as much variety (absolutely nobody beats Glaser for variety), but the produce is fresher (most of Glaser's stuff--at least what I buy--comes from California).

The VIP tickets are expensive, but it's a donation and the quality of experience is greatly enhanced. I think they're limiting it to only 300 persons, versus about 1500 later at the lower price. Last year, they ran out of wine for the VIP guests and had to go to Gastronomia for a quick fix. I agree about the lobster pasta and the pumpkin bisque!

See you there.

Harry Connick, Jr. is currently touring Asia with his Big Band. He is playing in Manila on Saturday (3/15) and Bangkok on Monday (3/17).

It would be difficult if not impossible to return to the USA to play in Miami on Sunday (3/16).
